Route Update - Leg 1

Today we have an uneventful drive for three hours until we reach the Cote de Beaune - home of some of the finest French wines. It will break our hearts but we will pass on through on our way to Geneva knowing that we will spend our final weekend here enjoying the vineyards and the town of Beaune with whatever cash we have left.

We have never driven past Beaune on the jewel of a tollroad called the A6 but we expect to have some nice views of the Alps to go along with the exorbitant tolls that we will pay. If we find any nice views we will post them as route highlights of course.

As we approach Switzerland we are ready for the famous Swiss border guards and the lovely welcome that they generally provide. With our French car and non French-speaking occupants it should be great. We have our passports ready and the 30 Euros for the "token" that allows Swiss motorway driving privileges. You don't mess with the Swiss and their rules.

Next update from Geneva.
